They don’t build things how they used to.
Now they do.
A few months before starting Fruit of the Forest Woodworking, our founder Declan Thiele found himself working on a drawer slide installation project for a custom cabinet builder.
Though metal bodied with a sophisticated appearance, they soon discovered that the interior mechanisms were entirely plastic. Parts were breaking left and right, not lining up, and the product quickly revealed itself as a dupe, instead of the beautiful, artisanal piece the client had expected.
We’re here to make sure that never happens to you again. That’s why we only use robust and traditional techniques on all of our products, and make sure that with every piece we make, we are working with the highest grade wood and tools. We believe you should be paying for quality, not mistakes, and not something to throw away in 5 years time either.
Fruit Of The Forest Woodworking was started with the dream of ushering in a new era of quality furniture, and putting to death the idea of cheap trash with high end prices.
So much of what’s available to buy in America right now can be categorized by two words: fast, and cheap.

Request a Quote
This is the only online form you can expect to see in our process.
It’s there so you can let us know who you are, the project you’re looking for, and (if you have one) the general budget you’re looking to stick to.
It doesn’t have to be long, it’s just your “hello”, opening up a dialogue between us to see if we’re the best fit for your needs.

Design Visit & Brief
Once you’re comfortable that you want to move forward with your commission, you’ll put down a 5% deposit of the quote and we will send a craftsman to your house for an in-person design visit. If you are out of state, we will schedule a one-on-one video call to cover the same ground.
After that we’ll create 2-3 design concepts for you to choose from, and narrow down exact prices for each, before beginning work on the piece you choose. The final design will be made into a scale model for you to confirm you are happy with every aspect of the piece.

Production & Installation
After we’ve formed a contract and settled on a design, we will begin work on the piece itself. Every project takes a unique amount of time to create, depending on its size and scope.
Your level of involvement is entirely your choice, but we welcome your input on all important steps along the way, such as the lumber we choose, grain orientation, and double checking finish options if necessary.
We’ll keep you in the loop on your specific timelines, and deliver and install your piece once it’s ready for you!
